When you search Google for something, you usually get back exactly what you are looking for in an instant. It doesn’t matter what it is – a place, a person or a movie. Google wants to continue giving searchers accurate, complete and intelligent answers, and this includes in relation to businesses. For that reason, it has developed what is called Google MyBusiness Location Attributes, which you can now add to your business listings. This not only provides your customers information that they are looking for, but it can also help to optimize your business listings with appropriate search terms that will be used by web searchers.
Essentially, these search terms, or attributes, can be placed into Google business listings to help identify characteristics of a business location. The specific attributes that are chosen will be determined by the category in which your business falls. For example, a bank would look at attributes like check cashing, safe deposit boxes, and ATMs, while a hotel might opt for heated indoor pool, pets allowed, and 24/7 fitness center as its attributes.
These types of keywords are often used in a business description, but Google Attributes gives you a new opportunity to use them – in your Google business listing, which optimizes them with keywords that customers are currently using to search for your business. This will make it much easier for customers to discover important, make-it-or-break-it details regarding your business and it will give Google a lot more helpful details as well, making it easier to match your business listing to appropriate searches. This ultimately helps to improve online visibility and boost your search ranking. Overall, Google Attributes helps your business listing and your business as a whole to stand out among competitors and to bring customers closer to your doorstep.
First, you need to sync your Google MyBusiness account with WebDetail. The syncing is imperative, as Google updates the attributes through the recent API update and you won’t be able to take advantage of the most recent attributes if you don’t go through with the syncing.
Once the syncing is complete (or if you’ve already completed this process), you can then begin optimizing your Google business listing with the Google location attributes immediately. Log into your WebDetail account and choose the business location that you would like to update. Next, you need to go to the Location Edit screen and go down to the section that is labeled Google MyBusiness Location Attributes. It is in this section that you will be able to select (remove or even change) your location attributes. Once you are done, make sure to click on the save button to save any changes that you have made. Then, you’re done!
